One two-month journey circling Australia has been cancelled following the fatal incident of an older woman who was stranded by the ship on a remote tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but broke off from the party for a break. The liner sailed away leaving her and came back after some time after the ship staff discovered the woman was missing.

A major hunt located her person the following day.

Officials are examining the incident, alongside investigators and the state coroner.

Chief Executive of the voyage organizer stated that passengers and staff on the Coral Adventurer were informed that the rest of the journey had been cancelled due to the "sad loss and earlier mechanical issues".

Through an announcement, he added that guests would be provided a complete reimbursement, and said the company was working "to coordinate the homeward trips of the passengers via specially arranged planes".

Regulatory bodies also published an latest statement, and said they had "issued a notice to the Captain" preventing any further travelers from entering the ship.

The spokesperson said that they would inspect the ship in the Australian city upon its arrival.

The vessel first departed the Australian port on October 24th, and was just two days into the journey at the time of the senior passenger's demise. The tropical location was the initial destination on the itinerary.

The child of the deceased woman said that her relatives was "stunned and grieved that the vessel left Lizard Island after an planned excursion without my parent".

In her statement, she portrayed her mother as an "energetic octogenarian" who was a affiliate of a hiking club.

"Based on limited information we have been told, it seems that there was a lapse of responsibility and basic judgment," she mentioned.

She continued that she wished the investigation would be able to identify what "the company should have undertaken that might have preserved Mother's life".
